Transitions

A dissolve overlaps two shots or scenes, gradually transitioning from one to the other. It’s usually used at the end of one scene and the beginning of the next and can show that two narratives or scenes are linked. They can be used to show time passing, or to move from one location to another.Quick dissolves might be used to show the scenes occur a few minutes or hours later, while a long dissolve might symbolise a longer duration of months or years between the scenes.Within the Trailer the film dissolve as they show the transaction from Sanaa Lathan Scene of her practice basketball working coordination as well aa her dribbling it then dissolves into a lecture of how to be successful in this society main focusing on hardware and talent will get you a long way.

A wipe is when a shot travels from one side of the frame to the other, replacing the previous scene. Like a whip pan, zoom transitions can be used to convey a frenetic pace, switching quickly from one scene to the next. This scene of the film show the zoom affect its closely related to similar to the extreme close -up which a camera movement this however is used to show as the camera language the actors reaction, body language , emotional feeling and atmosphere of the scene within this video they zoom show the reaction of how the character felt after killing the man and tom cruise is giving reaction as will be shown this where they use zoom wipe in scene to show character reaction.

Production log week 4

Following on from the slow filming of last week, this week we decided that we would use new actors who are likely to be available at the same time as us. As such we filmed some scenes with kyla and muna as they are part of our group and we also filmed some scenes with dakaisha as she is friends with all of us and is always in school and very reliable, she was even in my film last year. We filmed the more dramatic scenes with marwan to build tension and we made sure that all of the present day scenes had been filmed as well as the flashbacks for the non continuity trailer. This way all our filming is complete, so we can spend the next two weeks editing to ensure that everything is done in time for the deadline and that we will have two completed trailers.
