Transitions

A dissolve overlaps two shots or scenes, gradually transitioning from one to the other. It’s usually used at the end of one scene and the beginning of the next and can show that two narratives or scenes are linked. It all begin with the first motion cameras as they were invented in 1890s in fact;   1892 Edison and Dickson invented a motion picture camera and a peephole viewing device called the Kinetoscope. They were first shown publicly in 1893 and the following year the first Edison films were exhibited commercially. The film names are Black Maria, a tar-paper shack studio at Edison's West Orange Laboratory.
